On March 11, a concert of the Institute of High Technologies and Piezotechnics "Non-diamond Hand" took place at the Rostov-on-Don Regional House of Folk Art as part of the SFedU Student Spring-2025 festival "In the Rhythm of Time".
Soviet film classics continue to inspire creative people of different generations. The retro comedy "The Diamond Hand" directed by Leonid Gaidai was released on the big screen in 1969. The 2024 film Non-diamond Hand, directed by Mikhail Semichev and Roman Kim, is in turn a parody of the Soviet comedy by Leonid Gaidai.
The student's script repeats all the main points of the legendary movie hit, where, according to the plot, the Soviet worker Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov goes on a cruise abroad and gets into trouble. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he slips, loses consciousness, and a gang of smugglers mistakenly puts a plaster cast filled with jewelry on him. The hero unwittingly gets involved in a detective story and, risking his life, helps the police to expose the criminals.
The concert program includes not only songs created for the film by composer Alexander Zatsepin and poet Leonid Derbenev, but also modern musical compositions. There are also many humorous moments in the script related to the life of Rostov students.
Thanks to this, on the one hand, amateur actors manage to convey all the subtleties of Gaidai's humor, and on the other - to give the production an additional local charm.
The authors of the production have prepared an unexpected ending for the audience. You can find out how this fascinating story ended by watching the Non-diamond Handin the Vk group of the Department of Culture and Creativity of the SFedU.
